Trent Reznor has been in the music industry for over 30 years. For the majority of that time Reznor has been a voice against standards in the industry through his self-promotion and in the past few years, self-released albums from Nine Inch Nails like Ghosts I – IV and The Slip. Last year, Reznor had the extremely successful introduction (along with Atticus Ross) as composer for David Fincher’s The Social Network. Reznor and Ross would go on to win the Academy Award for Original Score in 2010.
Recently, Reznor and Ross collaborated again to score Fincher’s latest film – The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo (read CT‘s review here), hitting theaters on the 20th. Reznor and Ross were just nominated for a Golden Globe for their score. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Reznor gives one of his most in-depth interviews in years to discuss his life, music and collaborations with Ross and Fincher.
