The Opening Scene of ‘The Dictator’ is Now Online

After bringing us Ali G, Borat, and Brüno, guerilla comedian Sacha Baron Cohen offers up his latest with The Dictator (2012). This time Cohen plays General Aladeen, the leader of the fictional country of Wadiya. Maybe after causing so many controversies with the Kazahkstani journalist Borat he decided to avoid mocking actual nations. That might also explain why this film isn’t a mockumentary in the style of his last two films. However, the basic foreigner-visiting-America-for-the-first-time set-up remains. General Aladeen is ousted from his leadership position and must fend for himself in the city of New York. The supporting cast is pretty exciting too and includes John C. Reilly, Ben Kingsley, J.B. Smoove, and Megan Fox. The Dictator opens on May 16th. You can also follow the General himself on Twitter.
