Unless you’ve had your head buried in the sand, you’re well aware that The Hunger Games hit theaters at midnight last night to wide anticipation. Well, it’s doing even better than expected. The midnight showings totaled over $19 million, setting a record for the highest non-sequel midnight debut. The Hunger Games is predicted to set a March box office record. It could even make a push for the all-time weekend record, which was set by last year’s Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2. Deathly Hollows – Part 2 made a whopping $169 million.
I will be adding my $20 to the weekend total tonight – so look for my review on Monday.
