Spike Jonze Preparing Smart-Phone Romance Movie

Spike Jonze, director of Adaptation and Where the Wild Things Are, is writing an original screenplay about a man who falls in love with the voice on his computer. The Onion’s AV Club reports that Amy Adams, Carey Mulligan, and Samantha Morton are all being considered to provide the signature voice in this boy-meets-Siri story. Joaquin Phoenix has also been cast as a character suffering from “life-derailing delusions,” which may mean that he will play the main character. Details are scarce yet, but it should be noted that this project is in addition to another cinematic effort on which he is working with Charlie Kaufman.
