Jim Carrey is set to appear in the forthcoming sequel to the superhero action comedy, Kick-Ass, as Colonel Stars, leader of “Justice Forever.”
Both the film’s director, Jeff Wadlow, and writer of the original comic book series, Mark Millar, hinted at Carrey’s cameo via Twitter. Using one of Carrey’s infamous catchphrases, Wadlow tweeted the following: “6 days till we start shooting . . . and we officially have our Colonel. Alrighty f’n then.” Millar followed suit with a tweet that referenced Carrey’s movie history stating that the actor hired to play Colonel Stars, “Lives with 200 raccoons and parrots, owns the mask of Loki and [was] named by Spielberg as a genius.”
Millar has dispelled rumors that the film will be titled “Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Wall.” The sequel is scheduled for release next June.
