Full-Length Sweded Version of Star Wars Debuts on YouTube

A crowd-sourced video project from StarwarsUncut debuted just a few days ago and already has more than 1,000,000 views on YouTube. The masterminds behind this project called on Star Wars fans far and wide to recreate scenes from the film fifteen seconds at a time. Fans used everything from action figures to literally reshoot the entire film. Michel Gondry’s 2008 film Be Kind Rewind dubbed this low budget remake process as “Sweding.” Sweded versions of movies and trailers have since been popping up online, most famously including a fan made version of the preview for The Dark Knight Rises.
