Eddie Murphy’s ‘Beverly Hills Cop’ TV Pilot Coming to CBS

Eddie Murphy recently announced that he intends to take Beverly Hills Cop to the small screen and continue the storyline that began with Axel Foley. It was announced today that CBS would be picking up the pilot.

The official synopsis is: “A continuation of the iconic Beverly Hills Cop universe as Axel Foley’s blue-collar police officer son, Aaron, helps take down the criminal elements of the rich and famous, while simultaneously trying to escape the shadow of his larger than life father.”

Murphy will co-star in the pilot, as well as executive produce the show. He may even return in occasional guest appearances as everyone’s favorite Detroit detective. The pilot is expected in fall 2013.

If the show doesn’t include the theme song, then it isn’t even worth watching.

  1. I think it’s too little too late for this series. I think it would have been a better idea if the show would have been introduced after the series and focused on the events surrounding Axel, rather than his son.

I’ll give it a chance, but it only gets one.

  2. Agree completely. One chance to knock it out of the park.
