I'm back from Colorado and it was amazing. Its a beautiful state, but it's nice to be home. It also happens to be a new day and a new beginning to an optimistic America.
Today, Barack Obama becomes the 44th President of the United States. It seems like we've seen nothing but bad news for the last few months as the economy continues to crumble. We've got two wars (which the media doesn't even talk about anymore), a recession that keeps getting deeper, jobs dissapeering, local businesses going under and a stock market more volatile than the seas during a hurricane.
America needs today. Today we'll feel a new sense of optimism fill Americans. Change is needed and I for one can not wait until our new president takes a seat in the Oval Office. If there is any proof that a lot of people are feeling the same way that I do, just look at this photo.
As Obama makes his way to the Capitol to take the oath of office, it's a wonderful feeling. I feel great about our future. I know that Obama has a lot on his plate and quite a lot of grenades without the pins sitting on his desk, but we've been patient for 8 years. I can wait another year or more to see the future that we all deserve.
Congratulations to America and everyone who lives here. Congratulations to everyone in the world today too – this isn't just a change for Americans, its a change for everyone. Let's enjoy this day, but then get down to work. There's a lot to do.
