20th Century Fox’s ‘Digital HD’ Launches Today with ‘Prometheus’; Google Play, YouTube Added as Outlets

Sports fans may have noticed the massive Prometheus ads on ESPN today as 20th Century Fox launches the first film in their new Digital HD platform. Announced on Sept. 7th, Fox will now release all major home entertainment movies and TV shows via Digital HD three weeks earlier than they are available on DVD and Blu-ray.

Additionally, in support of this new digital deal and format, Google has announced that Google Play and YouTube will be added as digital platform providers for 20th Century Fox titles. Google will add over 600 titles to Play and YouTube soon. Google’s spokesman said, “Over the next few weeks you’ll be able to rent or buy your favorite Fox movies like X-Men, Ice Age, and Black Swan; and TV shows like Glee, Modern Family, New Girl, and many more.”
